I’m pleased with myself.  Last summer I had a go at my first ever sock knitting on four (sometimes five) double pointed needles.  It was a fiddle at first, especially working out how NOT to end up with three clear tramlines down the sock from where I moved from needle to needle.  Once mastered I’ve discovered I quite enjoy knitting socks. Slightly worrying I know, but I do.  I do enjoy knitting socks.

Zig-Zag Socks

Zig-Zag Socks

This latest pair of socks were finished this weekend.  At first I didn’t like the  Zig-Zag yarn or the way it was knitting up, but having persevered the socks have knitted up with a very even stitch and the finished articles have a ‘polished’ look to them.  Just goes to show that my stubborn streak pays off in the end (and my determination not to waste the yarn)!  Mind you my youngest has already pilfered them and they’re on his feet.  Let’s hope they keep him warm this winter.
